On our new street legal golf cart rental site, Prime Golf Cart Rentals, where we’ve partnered with Journee for easy rental booking, the carts we use are all the newest Star golf cart models. With our Star carts, customers have the option of booking via the Journee reservation page, or coming to one of our store locations – either in Riviera Beach or Fort Lauderdale – to scan a QR code on the cart to rent it right there and then. Our scan-and-go method allows customers to rent a cart the same day in just a few minutes, by simply scanning the QR code sticker and downloading the Journee app, and then entering all necessary information (such as payment info, driver’s licenses, and insurance cards).

As street legal vehicles, Star golf carts have a variety of safety features, including headlights, taillights, brake lights, horn, turn signals, seat belts, and a maximum speed of 24mph. They also come with a variety of luxury features that set them apart from standard golf cart rentals, such as a high-capacity lithium battery, extra cushioned seats, a backup camera, and a Bluetooth soundbar. According to Star, the lithium battery has an estimated range of 40-60 miles on a charge, depending on the terrain and usage. Lithium batteries also have a variety of advantages over standard lead-acid batteries, such as longer driving range, shorter charging time, no maintenance, no fumes, and less weight on the cart.

Top-Flight Performance: 48V 105Ah golf cart LiFePO4 battery is manufactured by top-of-the-line Grade A Prismatic LiFePO4 Cells and has a compact 5.37kWh energy, which is equivalent to 4pcs 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 in 4S (even 8pcs 12V 100Ah AGM batteries in 8S). It has a great 10.24kW power with low self-discharge rate, low capacity loss, more stable performance, and continuous discharge current up to 200A, which is 50% more powerful than the other same-size lithium battery.
Built-in 200A BMS & Multiple Protection: The LiFePO4 battery built-in 200A BMS provides over-charge/discharge, over-current, high/low temperatures, and short-circuiting protection. The battery case is made of high-strength cold-rolled sheet metal is fireproof, shockproof and IP67 waterproof. With good thermal and chemical stability. Maintenance free, no daily maintenance work and cost.
Born for Golf Carts & LCD Touchscreen: The lithium battery is specially designed and engineered to meet the rigorous demands of the 48V golf cart industry, with more powerful energy and excellent performance, compatible with the main brand golf cart controllers in the market. And comes with a 58.4V 25A LiFePO4 charger, which supports fast charging, 0% to 100% in just 4 hours. Equipped with a 2.8-inch touch screen you can view and control the battery in real time on the LCD screen.

One of the most important tasks is making sure that an electric golf cart’s batteries are in their best condition and will last as long as possible. Many newer carts have a lithium battery system, which require virtually no maintenance, but for carts with a lead-acid battery system, regular maintenance is necessary. This includes checking the water levels and refilling with distilled water when they’re low – when refilling, the water levels are meant to be about an inch below the cap hole, or just touching the edges of where the hole begins. Cleaning the terminals is also essential to preventing damage to the posts or cables. Using a solution of baking soda and water, use a wire brush to clean any corrosion and the liquid solution to dissolve the acid deposits.
It’s recommended to use a tire pressure gauge to check the air pressure level of your tires and make sure none are over or underinflated. Depending on your golf cart, the specific ideal tire pressure may vary, but most cart tires range between 15 and 25 psi. Also make sure to inspect for any signs of excessive wear or damage, such as shallow grooves, exposed treads, or reduced firmness.
